Hynobius tokyoensis

(English Name: Tokyo Salamander)

Distributions: Fukushima Pref. eastern part from the Kanto district

Size: 8 - 13 cm 

This small mainly terrestrial Japanese salamander has gorgeous blue coloration. In captivity it spends most of it's time hiding in a dark moist area of it's terrarium, but will occasionally come out to look for food and enter the water.
